VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

In the event of a public health emergency, a large number of volunteers will be needed.  The Bell County Public Health District (BCPHD) believes that volunteers can best assists during an emergency if they have received training in advance and understand their role.  Therefore, BCPHD will provide orientation and training to volunteers that register to serve in a volunteer capacity for the BCPHD. 

BCPHD needs volunteers with a variety of expertise, including:
  • Willingness to help
  • Health and medical professionals
  • Pharmaceutical professionals
  • Knowledge of triage
  • Patient counseling
  • Expertise in chemical, radiological, biological agents
  • Dispatching experience
  • Translators: Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, American Sign Language
  • Greeters
  • Food protection and handling
  • Data entry
  • Clerical skills
  • Computer hardware or software skills
  • Able to lift 40lbs
  • Handyperson skills
