The Bell County Public Health District strives to offer a variety of services to aid citizens of Bell County. However, it is impossible for us to offer every possible service that citizens may need. This page is meant as a guide for pointing citizens toward other health resources for things we do not offer and non-health related resources that may be useful.

For primary care and mental health services that assist with health challenges beyond what BCPHD provides some Bell County resources are:

  • Martha's Clinic: Martha's Clinic is a student-founded and student-run free health clinic for the homeless and indigent population of Temple and surrounding Bell County.
  • Temple Community Clinic: Eligible patients can receive services in chronic disease management, cardiology, dermatology, dentistry, diabetic education, primary care, prescription assistance and others.
  • Greater Killeen Community Clinic: The GKCC can offer services for uncomplicated illness (cold, flu, etc.), simple wound care, chronic disease management and the like.
  • Central Counties Services (MHMR): Offers services for mental and intellectual disabilities and mental health.
  • UMHB Life Community Center: The Community Life Counseling (CLC) center at UMHB provides high quality counseling services to Belton and the surrounding communities.
  • Bell County Indigent Health: Indigent Health Services Department to better serve the County and the community in areas of health care services for very low income residents.
Other services in the Central Texas area of note that residents may wish to utilize are:

  • Texas Workforce Commission: Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is the state agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas.
  • Baylor Scott and White Cancer Support Services: General and cancer-specific support groups and events throughout Central Texas, including Bryan/College Station, Killeen, Temple and Waco, for patients and caregivers battling the effects of cancer.
