All subdivisions in the County served by On-Site Sewer Facilities (OSSF) must be reviewed for compliance with applicable environmental regulations before they receive approval from the Bell County Commissioners’ Court.
State and County regulations require that subdivision planning material be submitted to our office whenever a property is divided into two or more parcels of land. This includes persons proposing residential subdivisions, manufactured housing communities, multiunit residential developments, business parks, or other similar uses, and using OSSF for sewage disposal.
The Health District provides technical assistance to the county engineer in all subdivisions served by an OSSF. Several cities in Bell County also require the Health District’s review before approval is granted.
Planning materials prepared by a professional engineer must include:
Overall site plan
The Health District will make a site visit to evaluate OSSF options for the proposed subdivision. Subdivision evaluation fees are $100 plus $5 per lot.
